Creditor's Rights Attorney

A law firm in Birmingham, AL, is seeking an experienced Creditor's Rights Attorney who is proficient in consumer credit collections and knowledgeable about state laws, particularly those related to consumer collections and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA). The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional communication skills, a commitment to client care, and the ability to handle multiple jurisdictions.

Duties:

• Represent clients in creditor's rights cases, including court appearances and litigation proceedings.
• Utilize the firm’s case management and reporting software to effectively manage assigned matters.
• Travel as necessary to attend court hearings and meetings with clients and stakeholders.
• Apply working knowledge of consumer credit collections and state-specific laws to achieve favorable outcomes.
• Maintain proactive communication with clients, providing updates on case progress and strategies.
• Draft and review legal documents, including complaints, motions, and settlement agreements.
• Negotiate settlements and agreements with debtors and opposing parties to resolve cases efficiently.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the State Bar of Alabama in good standing.
• Should have experience in creditor’s rights, consumer credit collections, or related litigation.
• Deep understanding of Alabama state laws pertaining to consumer collections and the FDCPA.
• Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a strong attention to detail.
• Preferred multi-state licensure to handle cases across different jurisdictions.
