A law firm in Hartford, CT, is seeking a Litigation Insurance and Reinsurance Associate Attorney with 4-6 years of solid insurance and reinsurance litigation experience. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience advising and representing insurers, reinsurers, and/or intermediaries in insurance coverage actions and reinsurance disputes. They should possess excellent technical, professional, and client service skills, along with outstanding written and verbal communication and advocacy abilities. Collaboration and a team-oriented approach are essential, along with effective problem-solving capabilities and the ability to work independently and proactively. Bar admission in good standing is required.

 

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel and representation to insurers, reinsurers, and intermediaries in insurance coverage actions and reinsurance disputes.
  • Handle a variety of complex litigation matters, including coverage disputes, regulatory investigations, environmental liability, asbestos, construction defects, opioids, workers' compensation, toxic torts claims, and/or other mass tort litigation.
  • Conduct thorough legal research, draft legal documents, and prepare case strategies.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and other stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and participate in case discussions and strategy sessions.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • 4-6 years of solid insurance and reinsurance litigation experience.
  • Bar admission in good standing in the relevant jurisdiction.
  • Experience with complex litigation matters related to insurance coverage and reinsurance disputes.

 

Certifications:

Bar admission in good standing.
