A law firm seeks a Senior Family Law Attorney to join its Westerville, OH office. The successful candidate will have 6-7+ years of experience in family law, with a focus on representing clients in divorce and custody cases. This role requires maintaining an individual caseload while mentoring and leading a team of associate attorneys. The ideal candidate will have strong litigation skills, leadership abilities, and a passion for advocating for clients in family law matters.

Duties

  • Manage an individual caseload of family law matters, including divorce, custody, and support cases.
  • Provide strategic legal counsel and representation to clients in family law disputes.
  • Lead and mentor associate attorneys, offering guidance and support in case strategy, litigation preparation, and client relations.
  • Conduct legal research, draft motions, pleadings, and other legal documents.
  • Represent clients in court hearings, mediations, and settlement negotiations.
  • Collaborate with the legal team to ensure comprehensive case management and effective representation of clients.
  • Stay current on family law trends and changes in legislation to provide up-to-date legal advice.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 6-7 years of experience practicing family law, with a focus on divorce and custody cases.
  • Strong litigation skills with experience in trial preparation and courtroom advocacy.
  • Proven leadership abilities to mentor and guide a team of associate attorneys.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications
