Trial Attorney - Insurance Defense

A nationally recognized law firm with a strong presence in the New York Metro area is seeking a skilled Trial Attorney to join its Insurance Defense practice. This full-time role involves handling a diverse caseload involving bodily injury, property damage, subrogation, and commercial disputes. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in litigation, strong trial skills, and the ability to manage cases independently from inception through resolution. A hybrid work schedule may be available.

Duties

• Represent clients in insurance defense matters through all stages of litigation

• Handle trials, depositions, hearings, arbitrations, and mediations

• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and settlement proposals

• Analyze case facts, conduct legal research, and develop litigation strategy

• Communicate with clients, insurers, and expert witnesses to coordinate case management

• Participate in negotiations and alternative dispute resolution proceedings

• Stay informed on changes in insurance law and court procedures

• Manage a caseload efficiently while meeting deadlines and maintaining quality standards

Requirements

• Several years of experience in insurance defense or civil litigation

• Proven ability to independently manage and try cases

• In-depth knowledge of litigation procedures and insurance defense strategies

• Strong organizational and case management skills

• Availability for courtroom appearances, depositions, and client meetings as needed

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications

• Admission to the New York State Bar (required)

• Admission in New Jersey, Connecticut, or Pennsylvania is a plus
