Job Overview: A law firm seeks an experienced attorney to join its legal team as an Of Counsel Attorney. This role involves providing expert legal advice to executives and handling litigation matters. Duties:

  • Handle litigation cases and represent the firm in various legal forums.
  • Provide accurate and timely counsel to executives on a variety of legal matters.
  • Collaborate with leadership to create effective defense strategies.
  • Manage risk proactively by offering sound legal advice on potential issues.
  • Maintain and update internal governance policies while ensuring compliance.
  • Draft, review, and solidify contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
  • Communicate and negotiate with external parties, including regulators and external counsel.
  • Stay informed of changes in relevant laws and contribute to the firm’s legal knowledge base.
  • Address complex legal issues with integrity and responsibility.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in the State of Kansas.
  • Proven experience in litigation and legal counsel, ideally in a law firm environment.
  • Strong ability to work through complex legal matters independently.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in law or related field.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree required.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in the State of Kansas.

Skills:
