The ideal candidate will have 7-10 years of experience in environmental regulatory defense and administrative enforcement matters. This role involves representing clients in complex litigation and providing transactional counseling. The candidate should possess high academic achievement and demonstrate solid oral advocacy and analytical, interpersonal, and writing skills.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in litigation related to environmental regulatory defense and administrative enforcement.
  • Handle cases involving issues under CERCLA, RCRA, the Clean Air Act, the Clean Water Act, and related California statutes.
  • Provide strategic advice and counseling on environmental regulatory matters.
  • Develop and execute legal strategies in environmental litigation.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents and settlements.
  • Collaborate with clients, experts, and other attorneys to prepare for cases and hearings.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support case strategies.
  • Participate in depositions, mediations, and court proceedings.
  • Stay current with changes in environmental laws and regulations.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior attorneys and legal staff.

Requirements:

  • 7-10 years of experience in environmental litigation and regulatory defense.
  • Proven track record in handling complex environmental cases, including those related to CERCLA, RCRA, the Clean Air Act, the Clean Water Act, and California ecological statutes.
  • Transactional counseling experience is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High level of energy and enthusiasm.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • High level of academic achievement.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the State Bar of California.
