Intellectual Property and Technology Litigation Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A top-tier law firm is seeking an associate attorney with 2-4 years of experience in complex litigation, specifically within the fields of intellectual property and technology. The ideal candidate will have strong academic credentials, research, and writing skills, along with a demonstrated interest in becoming a trial lawyer. This position offers an opportunity to work on substantive casework including depositions, motion practice, and trials.

Location:

• Minneapolis, MN

Duties:

• Handle complex litigation matters in intellectual property and technology
• Conduct legal research and draft legal documents, including briefs and motions
• Participate in depositions, motion practice, and trials
• Collaborate with team members, clients, and other counsel
• Manage case assignments, team members, and workflows efficiently
• Provide creative problem-solving and strategic legal advice to clients
• Understand and analyze complex scientific and engineering concepts

Requirements:

• 2-4 years of complex litigation experience, specifically in intellectual property and technology
• Strong academic credentials
• Excellent research, writing, and communication skills
• Strong organizational, planning, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Results-oriented, self-starter with high initiative and work ethic
• Admission to practice law in Minnesota or eligibility to become admitted
• Admission before the United States Patent & Trademark Office is a plus but not required

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in Minnesota (or eligibility to apply)
