Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm is seeking a skilled Litigation Associate to join its Private Wealth and Fiduciary Litigation Team in San Francisco. This position focuses on complex legal disputes involving private wealth, including trusts, decedents’ estates, and conservatorships or adult guardianships. The successful candidate will have opportunities to work on interesting cases involving fiduciary duties, estate administration, and financial elder abuse. This role offers substantial trial experience and direct client interaction.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in litigation involving trusts, estates, and conservatorships/adult guardianships.
  • Handle claims related to breach of fiduciary duty, fiduciary misconduct, fraud, and mismanagement.
  • Engage in heavy trial practice with frequent courtroom appearances.
  • Provide legal counsel on issues of estate administration, investment mismanagement, and financial elder abuse.
  • Collaborate with clients on emotionally charged family disputes.
  • Assist with business development opportunities in this niche area of law.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of litigation experience.
  • Experience or familiarity with trusts and estates litigation, or exposure to related legal issues (helpful but not required).
  • Strong research, writing, and courtroom skills.
  • Ability to manage cases independently or within a team.
  • Admission to the California State Bar.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to practice law in the state of California.

Skills:

  • Strong litigation and trial advocacy skills.
  • Excellent analytical and writing abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal and client communication skills.
  • Ability to manage emotionally sensitive cases.
