A law firm seeks a dedicated and experienced Criminal Defense Attorney to join its team in Waco, TX. This is an opportunity for an attorney who is passionate about providing clients with exceptional legal representation in criminal matters. As part of the legal team, you will be responsible for managing cases, strategizing defense tactics, and advocating for the best possible outcomes for clients in the criminal justice system.

Duties:

  • Manage a caseload of criminal defense cases from intake to resolution.
  • Develop and execute defense strategies to secure favorable outcomes for clients.
  • Represent clients in court, and handle motions, hearings, and trials.
  • Provide clear and timely communication with clients regarding case status and legal advice.
  • Collaborate with support staff and investigators to gather evidence and build case files.
  • Stay current with legal developments, case law, and criminal defense tactics.
  • Negotiate with prosecutors to reach the best possible resolution for clients when appropriate.

Requirements:

  • Texas Criminal Law experience is preferred.
  • Licensed to practice law in Texas (must be a member in good standing of the Texas State Bar).
  • Strong litigation, negotiation, and trial skills.
  • Ability to independently manage a diverse caseload.
  • Excellent communication and client service skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work efficiently under pressure.
  • Passion for criminal defense and advocacy.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in the state of Texas.

Skills:

  • Strong criminal defense knowledge and litigation skills.
  • Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
