A law firm seeks an experienced Employment Litigation Associate to join its San Francisco, California office. This is an exceptional opportunity for an attorney with a passion for labor and employment law to represent both local and national employers on a wide variety of complex legal matters. The successful candidate will have the chance to work on cutting-edge topics, including single-plaintiff employment cases and large-scale wage & hour class actions while working with a diverse team of legal professionals.

Duties:

  • Handle a wide array of labor and employment cases, including individual plaintiff employment disputes and wage & hour class actions.
  • Advise clients on various employment law matters, such as wrongful termination, workplace discrimination, harassment, and wage and hour issues.
  • Draft and file legal documents, including pleadings, discovery responses, and settlement agreements.
  • Engage in legal research and analysis to assist in developing case strategies.
  • Represent clients in depositions, hearings, and trial preparation.
  • Maintain direct communication with clients, providing legal counsel and updates throughout the litigation process.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in developing litigation strategies and managing complex cases.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities, including mentorship programs and training initiatives.
  • Contribute to business development efforts and assist in maintaining client relationships.

Requirements:

  • Experience in labor and employment law, with a focus on litigation.
  • Experience handling wage & hour class actions and single-plaintiff cases.
  • Strong analytical, research, and writing skills.
  • Ability to manage a full caseload and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a client-focused approach.
  • Must be admitted to practice law in California and in good standing with the State Bar.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active California State Bar membership required.

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of labor and employment law, particularly in the areas of wage & hour and wrongful termination.
  • Strong litigation skills, with the ability to represent clients in all stages of litigation.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in case management and legal research tools.
  • Client-oriented with the ability to build and maintain long-term relationships.
