Job Overview:

The Senior Elder Law / Trusts and Estates Associate Attorney will be crucial in counseling clients on estate planning, asset protection, Medicaid planning, and executing various legal documents. They will also oversee estate and trust administration, represent clients in court proceedings, and supervise paralegals.

Duties:

• Counsel clients on estate planning strategies and asset protection measures
• Develop and implement Medicaid and estate plans.
• Draft legal documents, including wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, powers of attorney, health care proxies, and living wills
• Manage estate administration processes
• Oversee trust administration activities
• Represent clients in court appearances related to estate proceedings
• Provide supervision and guidance to paralegals

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor degree (J.D.) from an accredited law school
• Licensed to practice law in New York
• 10-15 years of relevant experience in Elder Law and Trusts and Estates
• Experience with drafting various advance directives, trusts, and wills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to build and maintain rapport with clients
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Education and Certifications:

• Juris Doctor degree (J.D.) from an accredited law school
• Licensed to practice law in New York
