Job Overview:

A respected law firm based in Charlotte, NC, is currently seeking a seasoned legal professional to join its business advisory and corporate transactions team. This role offers an opportunity to counsel a broad array of clients on commercial contracts, corporate structuring, and transactional matters. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience negotiating complex agreements and providing strategic legal insight across diverse business activities.

Duties:

  • Handle a spectrum of business law matters, including corporate structuring, operational support, and compliance

  • Draft, revise, and negotiate key business agreements, including supply, service, procurement, logistics, and vendor contracts

  • Contribute to corporate governance advisory and provide support on internal compliance policies

  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to support transactional projects, including acquisitions and divestitures

  • Engage regularly with client stakeholders, delivering legal guidance that is pragmatic and aligned with business goals

  • Participate in knowledge sharing and contribute to the firm’s internal legal resources and development initiatives

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in corporate legal practice with a focus on commercial transactions

  • Demonstrated experience working with both private and public entities on business-related legal issues

  • M&A experience is welcomed but not essential

  • Comfort with working in a dynamic, collaborative team environment

  • Strong command of contract language and risk assessment

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) or equivalent law degree from an accredited institution

Certifications:

  • Admission to the South Carolina Bar preferred, or ability to become licensed promptly

Skills:

  • Superior drafting and negotiation skills

  • Business acumen and the ability to quickly comprehend client objectives

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational abilities

  • Proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making

  • Capable of handling multiple matters concurrently with attention to detail
