Job Overview:

The Entry-Level Criminal Defense Attorney will advise clients on their legal rights, represent clients in pretrial hearings, manage court appearances, conduct legal research, analyze case outcomes, and provide strategic legal counsel. The ideal candidate will have a passion for criminal defense and a desire to gain experience handling complex federal, state, and local cases.

Duties:

• Advise clients on their legal rights and draw up legal documents about their case
• Attend pretrial hearings on behalf of clients and provide post-hearing advice on strategic approaches
• Manage court appearances, trials, drafting motions, interviewing witnesses, and conducting legal research
• Analyze probable case outcomes using knowledge of legal precedents
• Manage the workload of cases efficiently
• Provide legal analysis to clients to assess potential case benefits
• Gather additional evidence to support clients' cases or refute prosecution charges
• Prepare clients for depositions and determine essential case strategy goals
• Work collaboratively with fellow associates to strategize and support each other

Requirements:

• Must be barred in Texas
• Interest in gaining experience in Criminal Defense
• Interest in handling complex criminal cases at federal, state, and local levels
• Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish) preferred
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to work well in a team environment

Education & Certifications:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
• Admission to the State Bar of Texas
