Duties:

  • Advise clients on their legal rights and draw up legal documents about their case
  • Attend pretrial hearings on behalf of clients and provide post-hearing advice on strategic approaches
  • Manage court appearances, trials, drafting motions, interviewing witnesses, and conducting legal research
  • Analyze probable case outcomes using knowledge of legal precedents
  • Manage the workload of cases efficiently
  • Provide legal analysis to clients to assess potential case benefits
  • Gather additional evidence to support clients' cases or refute prosecution charges
  • Prepare clients for depositions and determine essential case strategy goals

Requirements:

  • Must be barred in Texas
  • Interest in gaining experience in Criminal Defense
  • Interest in handling complex criminal cases at federal, state, and local levels
  • Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish) preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment

Education & Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
  • Admission to the State Bar of Texas
