Patent Agent

Job Overview: A law firm in Boston, MA, seeks a Patent Agent to collaborate with attorneys and clients, primarily within the medical device industry. Job Duties:

• Collaborate with attorneys and clients in various industries, particularly the medical device sector.
• Utilize patent prosecution experience to build and manage U.S. and international patent portfolios.
• Work closely with team attorneys to identify solutions and opportunities for clients with diverse needs.
• Draft and prosecute patent applications.
• Conduct due diligence investigations.
• Perform freedom-to-operate and landscape analyses.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience practicing patent preparation and prosecution.
• Undergraduate degree in engineering.
• Strong academic credentials.
• Registration to practice before the USPTO.
• Technical knowledge in mechanical, electrical, biomedical, or related fields preferred.
• Engineering and/or computer science degree preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in patent drafting and prosecution.
