Job Overview:
A prominent law firm is seeking a Senior Immigration Attorney to join its growing team in Fresno, CA. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced immigration attorney with 5-8 years of practice to manage cases and work closely with a team of skilled professionals. The ideal candidate will be a strong advocate for clients and have a deep understanding of immigration law, including removal defense and family-based petitions.

Location:

  • Fresno, CA

Duties:

  • Explain complex immigration concepts and develop strategic legal solutions for clients
  • Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA)
  • Manage caseload, ensuring timely progression and resolution of cases
  • Conduct intake interviews with detained individuals at detention centers
  • Prepare and review diverse immigration applications, including removal defense, family-based petitions, and other immigration filings
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community organizations on immigration law changes
  • Meet with potential clients for strategic immigration consultations and determine necessary case strategies
  • Develop legal strategies and prepare clients and witnesses for court or USCIS testimony
  • Provide legal analysis and guidance to clients to identify possible case benefits
  • Prepare and submit legal briefs for various immigration cases

Requirements:

  • 5-8 years of experience in Immigration Law
  • Proven track record of managing a caseload and advancing legal cases
  • Strong ability to strategize and work collaboratively with a team
  • Experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian Relief, EOIR, Detained Cases, Citizenship, and USCIS applications
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred but not required
  • Familiarity with Case Management Software is a plus

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Admission to the State Bar (California or relevant state)

  • Excellent communication, written and verbal
  • Strong legal research and analysis capabilities
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • High-level interpersonal skills
