Trial Attorney Liability Defense

Job Overview:

A law firm seeks a seasoned Trial Attorney to join its Liability Defense team in Tampa, Orlando, or Fort Lauderdale, FL. The attorney will lead trial efforts, supervise associates and staff, and act as the primary point of contact for clients. With a minimum of 7-20 years of trial experience, the ideal candidate will have a background in insurance defense and a strong commitment to client satisfaction.

Duties:

• Serve as lead trial counsel on assigned cases.
• Oversee case management from initial service through discovery and trial preparation.
• Manage client expectations and maintain client communications.
• Assign and manage expert witnesses for trials.
• Supervise and mentor associates and staff working on assigned cases.
• Contribute to firm management and decision-making processes as needed.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 7-20 years of trial experience, preferably in insurance defense.
• Proven ability to lead complex trials, particularly in auto negligence and premises liability cases.
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills for overseeing associates and staff.
• Excellent client management abilities, including communication and relationship-building.
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and clients to achieve favorable outcomes.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active membership in the Florida Bar.

Skills:

• Extensive trial experience and strong courtroom presence.
• Excellent legal research and writing skills.
• Strong organizational abilities to manage a large caseload.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
