A law firm seeks a mid-level Patent Litigation Associate to join its Intellectual Property and Technology group in New York, NY. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with a diverse range of clients from various industries across the nation while working on complex and high-stakes patent litigation cases.

Duties:

  • Handle all aspects of patent litigation, including:
    • Managing written discovery.
    • Drafting briefs and other legal documents.
    • Preparing for and conducting depositions.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to devise effective litigation strategies.
  • Perform in-depth legal research and analysis to support case preparation.
  • Ensure timely and effective case management, including adherence to deadlines and overseeing litigation workflow.

Requirements:

  • 4–6 years of experience in patent litigation, with a strong focus on intellectual property disputes.
  • A background in electrical engineering and/or computer science is highly desirable.
  • Proven ability to manage complex litigation, including drafting legal briefs, handling discovery, and preparing for depositions.
  • Excellent academic credentials and exceptional legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Self-motivated and adaptable, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Prior experience at a regional or national law firm is preferred.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the New York State Bar is required.
