Job Overview:

A leading law firm is seeking an experienced Attorney Specialist to join its Asset Management and Investment Funds (AMIF) practice group. This is a permanent, non-partnership track position, ideal for candidates with 5 to 10 years of experience in asset management and investment funds. The Attorney Specialist will play a vital role in supporting attorneys with mutual fund and ETF filings, fund launches, and compliance with the 1940 Act. This opportunity offers a dynamic role for those looking to make a long-term commitment and grow within a specialized field of law.

Location:

  • Kansas City, MO.

Duties:

  • Assist registered fund attorneys with mutual fund and ETF filings.
  • Help with new fund launches and the review and update of mutual fund registration statements and shareholder reports.
  • Review and prepare mutual fund board materials.
  • Conduct research on matters related to the 1940 Act.
  • Collaborate with partners and associates on significant client relationships.
  • Manage project timelines and ensure quality work.

Requirements:

  • 5 to 10 years of direct experience in asset management and investment funds.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong academic credentials.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Project management experience, either as a leader or team member.
  • Commitment to the asset management and investment funds practice area.
  • Experience with mutual fund regulatory work is preferred.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active member of the bar in the state of practice.

Skills:

  • Strong project management and leadership abilities.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to manage complex tasks.
  • Familiarity with the 1940 Act and mutual fund regulations.
