A law firm seeks a dedicated and skilled Immigration Attorney to join its dynamic legal team in Phoenix, AZ. This position offers an exceptional opportunity for an associate with 1-4 years of experience to contribute to a growing practice, gain exposure to diverse immigration matters, and advance professionally. The successful candidate will manage a caseload, interact directly with clients, and work collaboratively with a talented team of immigration specialists.

Duties:

  • Provide strategic legal counsel on a range of immigration matters
  • Represent clients in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals
  • Manage a diverse caseload, ensuring deadlines are met and client's needs are addressed
  • Conduct intake sessions with detained individuals at detention centers
  • Prepare and review immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based petitions
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community-based organizations to stay informed about evolving immigration laws
  • Engage in consultations with potential clients to assess their needs and advise on effective strategies
  • Develop legal strategies and assist in preparing clients and witnesses for court hearings or USCIS testimony
  • Provide legal analysis to identify potential benefits or risks in client cases
  • Draft and submit legal briefs, petitions, and other documentation for a variety of immigration cases

Requirements:

  • 1 to 4 years of experience practicing immigration law
  • Ability to manage a caseload while maintaining a high level of client service
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly
  • Experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian Applications, EOIR, Detained Cases, Citizenship, and USCIS applications
  • Ability to work collaboratively with fellow attorneys and legal support staff
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred, but not required
  • Experience with case management software is a plus

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active state bar membership (preferably in Arizona)

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
