A law firm is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Employment Litigation Associate Attorney to join their team in Tampa. The successful candidate will defend and litigate lawsuits involving a broad range of employment-related claims and agency charges of discrimination, as well as provide advice and counsel to employers on various employment and labor law issues. This role offers an opportunity to represent employers in court, before administrative agencies, at mediations, and in arbitration, ensuring comprehensive legal support in employment matters.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Defend and litigate lawsuits involving a wide range of employment-related claims and agency charges of discrimination.
  • Advise and counsel employers on various employment and labor law issues.
  • Train employers on compliance with employment laws and best practices.
  • Represent employers in court, before administrative agencies, at mediations, and in arbitration.
  • Handle employment matters, including class/collective actions, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, contract disputes, employment torts, and non-compete cases.
  • Draft, review, and file legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on employment law issues.
  • Prepare for and conduct depositions and discovery.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships through effective communication and service.

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in employment or commercial litigation.
  • Employment law background strongly preferred.
  • Current Florida Bar admission in good standing.
  • Understanding of current state and federal agency procedures.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to excellence.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills.
  • Commitment to professionalism, collegiality, and teamwork.

 

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Excellent academic credentials.

 

Certifications:

Admission to the Florida Bar in good standing.
