Job Overview

A highly respected law firm is seeking a Managing or Senior Associate Attorney with 4–7 years of experience in private fund formation to support its renowned investment funds and emerging companies practice. This position offers the opportunity to counsel venture capital and growth equity sponsors across all stages of fundraising and capital deployment. The successful candidate will work with one of the nation’s most active legal teams advising clients in the innovation and startup ecosystem.

Duties

  • Advise clients on private fund formation and ongoing fund-related matters

  • Counsel venture capital and growth equity fund sponsors, from emerging managers to institutional firms

  • Handle all aspects of fund structuring, fundraising, investor negotiations, and compliance

  • Collaborate with a cross-functional legal team serving innovation-focused clients

  • Deliver practical and strategic legal solutions that align with fund managers’ business goals

Requirements

  • 4–7 years of legal experience in private fund formation and investment management

  • Substantial experience representing venture capital or growth equity funds

  • Strong academic background and performance

  • Ability to manage complex projects and communicate effectively with clients

  • Must be admitted and in good standing with the bar of the state where the candidate intends to practice

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school

Certifications

  • Active membership in the bar of the relevant practicing jurisdiction
