The role involves handling civil litigation matters, including court hearings, mediations, depositions, and code enforcement hearings across the state. Previous exposure to Florida Rules of Civil Procedure and civil litigation is advantageous.

Duties:

  • Draft and review pleadings, motions, and other court filings.
  • Represent clients at court hearings, mediations, depositions, and code enforcement hearings both in-person and remotely.
  • Provide top-level legal services to mortgage banking clients.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all client interactions.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal foreclosure, bankruptcy, and collections requirements.
  • Utilize intermediate to advanced computer and office skills for efficient document management and communication.
  • Analyze legal issues, develop strategies, and provide recommendations to clients.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Florida State Bar.
  • 3-5 years of experience in civil litigation, preferably with exposure to mortgage banking litigation.
  • Strong understanding of Florida Rules of Civil Procedure.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
  • Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with clients and colleagues.
  • Proficient in verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to analyze legal issues and provide strategic advice.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Florida State Bar.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in drafting legal documents and pleadings.
  • Experience in conducting depositions, hearings, and mediations.
  • Knowledge of foreclosure, bankruptcy, and collections laws and procedures.
  • Strong computer skills including MS Office and legal research databases.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
