A law firm seeks a dedicated Family Law Associate to join its team in Hamilton, NJ. The ideal candidate will work closely with senior attorneys to support clients in a wide range of family law matters, including divorce, child custody, support issues, and more. Duties

  • Assist senior family law attorneys in handling a variety of family law cases, including divorce, equitable distribution, alimony, child custody, child support, and relocation issues.
  • Prepare legal documents such as petitions, motions, affidavits, and other court filings.
  • Conduct research and write briefs and pleadings on complex legal issues related to family law.
  • Engage with clients directly, providing legal guidance and support through all stages of their cases.
  • Review discovery materials, prepare for hearings, and assist in identifying and consulting experts.
  • Support the team with drafting and reviewing pre-marital agreements, domestic violence cases, and adoption proceedings.
  • Maintain high standards of organization and ensure all deadlines and client needs are met efficiently.

Requirements

  • At least 2-4 years of experience practicing family law.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent writing, drafting, and research abilities.
  • Superior organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients.
  • Licensed to practice law in the State of New Jersey; Pennsylvania admission is a plus.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in New Jersey.
  • Pennsylvania bar admission is preferred, but not required.
