A law firm is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney for their Baltimore, MD office. The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of experience in commercial litigation, with a strong track record of handling complex cases. The candidate must demonstrate a high level of academic achievement, law firm experience, and possess superb writing, drafting, and communication skills. Federal clerkship experience is a plus. The role involves managing litigation matters, representing clients in court, and contributing to the firm's success through effective case management and legal strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and handle a diverse caseload of commercial litigation matters, from case initiation to resolution.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery requests.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare detailed legal memoranda to support litigation strategies.
  • Represent clients in court proceedings, including hearings, depositions, and trials.
  • Develop and implement litigation strategies to achieve favorable outcomes for clients.
  • Collaborate with clients, internal teams, and opposing counsel to facilitate case management and resolution.
  • Manage discovery processes, including document review, production, and depositions.
  • Stay updated on legal developments and trends relevant to commercial litigation.
  • Support senior attorneys and partners with complex litigation matters and contribute to the firm's overall litigation practice.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in Maryland or eligibility for admission to the Maryland Bar.
  • 4+ years of experience in commercial litigation, with a demonstrated ability to handle complex cases.
  • High level of academic achievement and significant law firm experience.
  • Federal clerkship experience is a plus but not required.
  • Excellent writing, drafting, and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage litigation matters.
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic legal environment.
