Job Title: Workers' Compensation Attorney

Duties:

  • Oversee, manage, and litigate assigned workers' compensation cases from start to finish.
  • Maintain and manage case management software (CMS), ensuring timely updates and documentation.
  • Facilitate regular meetings with Claim Specialists and Litigation Specialists to review cases and prepare for hearings.
  • Provide meaningful contact with clients at key points throughout the case, including initial 72-hour and quarterly check-ins.
  • Manage all communication with insurance adjusters, medical providers, and other relevant parties.
  • Draft non-routine legal correspondence and ensure proper documentation and filing of case details.
  • Monitor and manage the progress of all assigned cases, establishing and adjusting case plans as needed.
  • Advocate for clients at hearings, making legal arguments and presenting evidence.
  • Review legal determinations and direct the appeal process when necessary.
  • Participate in administrative and leadership team meetings.
  • Perform other duties as required to support case management and litigation efforts.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited institution.
  • Licensed to practice law in the State of Nevada and good standing with the Nevada State Bar.
  • Valid Nevada driver's license and proof of insurance.
  • Strong knowledge of legal principles, research techniques, terminology, and government regulations.
  • Exceptional legal drafting, writing, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to operate office equipment such as printers, scanners, and fax machines.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple cases with minimal supervision.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to work with diverse clients and colleagues professionally.
  • Strong commitment to confidentiality and ethical legal practice.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of experience in workers' compensation law and litigation.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze cases and negotiate settlements effectively.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in Nevada.

Skills:

  • Legal research and case management.
  • Strong communication, both written and oral.
  • Time management and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with case management software (CMS).
  • Litigation and settlement negotiation.
