A law firm seeks an experienced project development attorney to join its team in Denver, CO. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on major infrastructure projects in the renewable energy sector, focusing on energy transition technologies such as renewable energy, energy storage, and power generation. The ideal candidate will bring at least 5 years of experience in construction and procurement law, with a strong background in large-scale projects. Duties:

  • Advise clients on various aspects of project development, from procurement to construction to operations.
  • Negotiate and draft key project agreements, including engineering, procurement, and construction contracts (EPC), operations and maintenance (O&M) agreements, and equipment procurement contracts.
  • Focus on large-scale infrastructure projects, particularly in the renewable energy sector, including power generation and energy storage.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to navigate complex legal issues and deliver innovative solutions for clients.
  • Provide strategic counsel on regulatory compliance, risk management, and other critical areas throughout the life cycle of major projects.
  • Represent clients in disputes related to project development and construction.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in project development law, particularly in construction and procurement.
  • Prior experience with renewable energy projects is strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to negotiate and draft complex agreements for large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Strong business acumen and experience managing high-profile projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative environment while maintaining a high level of professionalism.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • An exceptional academic record is required.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in Colorado, or the ability to become licensed in a reasonable time frame.

Skills:

  • Expertise in drafting and negotiating complex contracts, particularly in construction and project development.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex legal matters clearly to clients and stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborative team player with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on delivering high-quality legal work.
