A law firm seeks a Transactional Franchise & Distribution Associate Attorney to join its practice in San Francisco, CA. This position is designed for an attorney with a background in U.S. franchising regulations who is experienced in drafting franchise agreements and managing regulatory filings. The role provides an opportunity to counsel a diverse client base on complex business transactions and franchise-related matters.

Duties:

  • Draft and review franchise agreements, franchise disclosure documents, and other regulatory filings.
  • Provide legal advice on complex business transactions in the franchise and distribution sectors.
  • Counsel both domestic and international clients on a wide range of franchising matters.
  • Collaborate with a team of seasoned attorneys to address both transactional and litigation franchise issues.
  • Support a varied client base, including emerging franchisors, large franchise corporations, private equity firms, and international businesses expanding into the U.S. market.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in transactional franchise law.
  • Proficiency in U.S. franchise regulations and compliance.
  • Admission to practice law in California, or eligibility for admission via waiver.
  • Strong analytical, drafting, and writing skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a collaborative environment.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in good standing with the California State Bar or eligibility for admission.
