A law firm is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Education Associate Attorney to join their team in Greensboro, NC. The candidate will focus on providing high-quality legal and consulting services to higher educational institutions both in North Carolina and nationwide. The ideal candidate should have experience or a strong desire to specialize in higher education law, encompassing areas such as Title IX, faculty employment, student and academic affairs, and athletics.

 

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel and consulting services to higher educational institutions on a wide range of issues, including Title IX compliance, faculty employment matters, student affairs, academic policies, and athletics.
  • Represent educational institutions in litigation and administrative proceedings.
  • Advise clients on regulatory compliance with federal, state, and local laws affecting higher education.
  • Draft, review, and revise policies, handbooks, contracts, and other legal documents for higher educational institutions.
  • Conduct training sessions and workshops for clients on various legal and compliance issues.
  • Perform legal research and analysis to support clients' positions and provide strategic advice.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and professionals within the firm to deliver comprehensive legal solutions.
  • Stay current with developments in higher education law and related areas to provide the most effective advice and representation.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their specific needs and providing tailored legal solutions.

 

Requirements:

  • Must possess exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Must have excellent academic credentials.
  • Licensed to practice law in North Carolina or have the ability to become immediately licensed.
  • Strong desire to learn and specialize in the Higher Education practice area.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and projects simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with clients and colleagues.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Membership in good standing with the North Carolina State Bar or eligibility to obtain North Carolina licensure promptly.
