Job Overview:
A law firm seeks a skilled and experienced Trial Attorney to join its team in Sandy Springs, Georgia. This role requires a dynamic legal professional with a strong background in civil litigation, particularly in insurance defense, medical malpractice, personal injury, or workers’ compensation. The attorney will take full ownership of their caseload, manage litigation from inception to trial, and work in a collaborative yet autonomous environment. This position offers a hybrid work arrangement, with both in-office and remote flexibility.

Duties:

  • Manage and oversee a caseload of civil litigation matters from initiation to resolution.
  • Represent clients in court proceedings, including trials, mediations, depositions, and hearings.
  • Develop case strategies and trial plans tailored to each client’s legal needs.
  • Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, and legal memoranda.
  • Analyze case files, evidence, and legal precedents to prepare for trial.
  • Collaborate with legal teams and support staff to ensure thorough case preparation.
  • Provide legal counsel and guidance to clients throughout the litigation process.
  • Stay informed on changes in relevant laws and procedural rules.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of civil litigation experience, with a preference for candidates with jury trial experience.
  • Strong background in insurance defense, medical malpractice, personal injury, or workers’ compensation law.
  • Extensive knowledge of local and state procedural rules, discovery requirements, and trial processes.
  • Excellent advocacy, negotiation, and legal writing skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases efficiently while maintaining high-quality work.
  • Strong teamwork skills with the ability to work independently when necessary.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active law license in the state of Georgia and good standing with the State Bar of Georgia.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in case management systems and legal research tools.
  • Ability to strategize and develop strong legal arguments.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical abilities.
