A law firm in Charlotte, NC, is seeking an experienced Senior Discovery Attorney to lead eDiscovery initiatives, collaborating closely with eMerge attorneys, technologists, case teams, and clients to ensure efficient and compliant management of discovery processes.

Duties:

  • Collaborate with eMerge attorneys, technologists, case teams, and clients to develop and manage case-specific eDiscovery workflows and protocols focused on risk mitigation, cost control, and defensibility.
  • Oversee and ensure the quality of work and deliverables for eMerge Discovery Attorneys, Project Attorneys, technologists, and service providers to maintain consistency, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Provide expert guidance and support to case teams and clients throughout all discovery phases, including preservation, production, and post-production activities such as deposition and trial preparation.
  • Stay updated on eDiscovery laws, regulations, and industry best practices to inform strategic decisions and ensure compliance.
  • Effectively communicate complex legal and technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders through clear and concise written and verbal communication.
  • Utilize proficiency in preservation, filtering, and export capabilities of corporate messaging, collaboration, and productivity solutions, including Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace.
  • Preferably possess expertise with eDiscovery software, particularly Relativity, to optimize data management and review processes.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in North Carolina and in good standing.
  • 5-7 years of progressive experience in eDiscovery within a law firm environment, demonstrating proficiency in managing complex discovery projects.
  • Thorough knowledge of eDiscovery laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.
  • Proficiency in using eDiscovery tools and platforms, with specific experience in Relativity preferred.

Skills:

  • Strong leadership and project management skills to oversee multiple eDiscovery projects simultaneously.
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment and across various departments.
  • Strategic thinking and prioritization skills to manage deadlines and resources effectively.

Certifications (Preferred):

  • Certification in eDiscovery (e.g., Relativity Certified Administrator) is advantageous.
