Job Overview:
A prominent defense litigation firm, based in San Antonio, Texas, is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Associate Attorney to join its growing team. This full-service firm handles a diverse range of casework, including construction litigation, products liability, premises liability, personal injury, cyber claims, and other insurance defense matters. The ideal candidate will be a dedicated litigator with a strong passion for civil litigation and advocacy. Location:

Duties:

  • Conduct legal research and draft detailed legal documents, including motions, pleadings, and briefs
  • Represent clients in court proceedings, depositions, and hearings
  • Assist in the development of case strategies and provide effective legal counsel to clients
  • Manage and maintain case files, ensuring all documentation is up to date
  • Handle discovery, settlement negotiations, and client communications
  • Work closely with senior attorneys and other team members to ensure efficient case management
  • Prepare and argue motions in court
  • Assist with various types of litigation, including personal injury, construction defects, premises liability, and more

Requirements:

  • Strong research and writing skills
  • Demonstrated ability to advocate effectively in court settings
  • Goal-driven, self-motivated, and able to work independently
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Texas Bar license (or ability to obtain promptly)
  • Some courtroom experience is required

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active Texas Bar membership (or pending admission)

Skills:

  • Strong legal research and writing skills
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to independently manage a caseload
  • Knowledge of civil litigation processes, including discovery and trial preparation
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
