Job Overview:
A law firm is seeking an Investigative Attorney on behalf of a leading law firm specializing in personal injury cases. This role focuses on investigating liability and insurance claims for catastrophic and major injury cases. The attorney will engage in evidence collection, client relationship management, and legal research to determine the best course of action for pre-litigation cases. The position involves travel and flexible hours to meet the needs of investigations and client consultations.

Location: Los Angeles, California

Duties:

  • Review and evaluate liability and insurance coverage for large injury cases
  • Build and maintain client relationships during pre-litigation
  • Conduct field investigations, including evidence collection, site visits, and witness interviews
  • Hire and collaborate with experts for case analysis
  • Engage outside investigators for specialized investigations and recorded statements
  • Perform legal research related to case facts and applicable case law
  • Draft government claim forms and demand letters
  • Communicate and negotiate with adjusters
  • Draft correspondence as needed for case management
  • Manage and analyze evidence to assess liability and develop case strategies

Requirements:

  • Licensed attorney in the state of California
  • Willingness to travel and meet clients both on-site and off-site
  • Flexibility with hours to accommodate investigations and client needs
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple cases
  • Comfortable interacting with experts for case evaluation
  • Creative and adaptable problem-solving skills

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree required

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the California state bar (required)
