Job Overview
A prestigious law firm in Santa Monica, CA, is seeking a highly skilled attorney to join its Institutional Response Group. This role involves supporting institutions in addressing issues related to civil rights compliance, regulatory frameworks, and misconduct prevention. The position requires extensive experience in Title IX, Title VI, Title VII, and related civil rights laws, along with exceptional communication, organizational, and analytical abilities.

Duties

  • Conduct thorough investigations under Title IX, Title VI, Title VII, and other civil rights or criminal laws related to harassment, violence, or discrimination.
  • Assist organizations in developing and implementing trauma-informed, impartial prevention, and resolution processes.
  • Create and review comprehensive policies, procedures, and educational materials to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Guide compliance with Title IX, the Clery Act, and other child protection or regulatory frameworks.
  • Collaborate with institutions on governance, safety, security, and misconduct response strategies.
  • Travel as needed to support clients and organizational goals.

Requirements

  • Licensed attorney in California.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting investigations under Title IX, Title VI, Title VII, or related legal frameworks.
  • Familiarity with compliance and prevention processes in areas such as sexual harassment, discrimination, child or elder abuse, or institutional safety.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to handle complex cases.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active membership in the California Bar Association.
