Litigation Associate Attorney

A law firm in Los Angeles is seeking a highly qualified Litigation Associate Attorney to join its business litigation section. The ideal candidate will have exceptional research, analytical, and writing skills, along with a detail-oriented mindset. Strong academic achievement and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team are essential. Prior litigation experience in state and/or federal court in California is required. The candidate must be licensed to practice in California.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage and handle complex business litigation matters, including drafting legal documents, preparing case strategies, and overseeing case management.
• Represent clients in state and federal court proceedings, including trials, hearings, and depositions.
• Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support case preparation and strategy development.
• Draft, review, and argue motions, including dispositive motions and discovery-related motions.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys and team members to develop and implement effective case strategies.
• Communicate regularly with clients, providing updates and addressing their questions or concerns.
• Prepare detailed legal briefs, memoranda, and other documentation for court proceedings.
• Participate in settlement negotiations and mediation processes as needed.
• Maintain a high level of organization and manage multiple cases simultaneously.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to practice law in California.
• Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in business litigation, including prior litigation experience in state and/or federal court in California.
• Strong academic achievement with exceptional research, analytical, and writing skills.
• Ability to function independently and as part of a team.
• Detail-oriented with a high level of professionalism and attention to accuracy.
• Proven track record of handling complex litigation matters effectively.
