A law firm seeks a Transactional Franchise & Distribution Associate Attorney to join its team in Houston, TX. This role is ideal for an attorney experienced in U.S. franchising regulations, skilled in drafting franchise-related agreements and managing regulatory compliance. The position involves advising clients on complex business transactions in the franchise sector, supporting a wide range of industries, both domestic and international.

Duties:

  • Draft and review franchise agreements, franchise disclosure documents, and related regulatory filings.
  • Advise on complex business transactions related to franchise and distribution matters.
  • Counsel clients on compliance with U.S. franchising regulations, from both domestic and international perspectives.
  • Work collaboratively with a team of attorneys on both transactional and litigation franchise matters.
  • Serve a diverse client base, including start-up franchisors, established franchise corporations, private equity firms, and international businesses expanding into the U.S. market.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in transactional franchise law.
  • Knowledge of U.S. franchise regulations and compliance standards.
  • Admission to practice law in Texas, or eligibility for admission via waiver.
  • Strong analytical, drafting, and writing skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in good standing with the Texas State Bar or eligibility for admission.
