Job Overview
A prominent law firm is seeking a Senior Discovery Attorney to manage complex eDiscovery issues across various legal matters. The ideal candidate will have 5 to 7 years of experience handling all discovery phases, including preservation, production, and pre-litigation governance. This role will involve working closely with case teams and clients to design workflows that mitigate risk and control costs while ensuring defensibility and successful outcomes.

Duties

  • Advise and support case teams and clients in all discovery phases of legal matters, from preservation through production.
  • Assist with pre-litigation information governance, post-production deposition/witness preparation, and trial preparation.
  • Collaborate with attorneys, technologists, case teams, and clients to create case-specific eDiscovery workflows and protocols.
  • Focus on risk mitigation, cost control, and ensuring defensibility of the discovery process.
  • Oversee and ensure the quality of work and deliverables from Discovery Attorneys, Project Attorneys, technologists, and service providers.
  • Ensure consistency, accuracy, and efficiency in the completion of discovery-related tasks.

Requirements

  • 5 to 7 years of experience in eDiscovery and litigation support.
  • Must be licensed and in good standing in the state of practice.
  • Proven ability to manage complex discovery processes in diverse legal matters.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • eDiscovery-related certifications such as Relativity Certified Pro or Certified E-Discovery Specialist are preferred.

Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of eDiscovery laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal and technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Expertise in preservation, filtering, and export capabilities of corporate messaging and collaboration tools such as Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace.
  • Proficiency in Relativity is highly preferred.
  • Strong leadership abilities to oversee teams and ensure high-quality work.
