Public Finance Attorney

Job Overview: A law firm in Flagstaff, AZ, seeks a highly skilled and experienced Public Finance Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience as a bond or issuer’s counsel in tax-exempt finance or possess significant knowledge of tax credits or municipal law. This role involves providing legal counsel and representation in various public finance matters, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Duties:

• Provide legal counsel on bond issuance, tax-exempt financing, and related public finance transactions.
• Draft and review legal documents, including bond resolutions, trust indentures, and tax opinions.
• Advise clients on compliance with federal, state, and local regulations about public finance.
• Represent clients in negotiations and transactions involving tax credits, municipal law, and other finance-related matters.
• Conduct legal research and stay updated on changes in laws and regulations affecting public finance.
• Collaborate with other attorneys and professionals to deliver comprehensive legal solutions.
• Manage and oversee public finance transactions from inception through completion.
• Develop relationships with clients, governmental entities, and financial institutions.
• Guide risk management and legal implications of financial decisions.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a bond or issuer’s counsel in tax-exempt finance, tax credits, and municipal law.
• Strong knowledge of public finance regulations and tax-exempt financing.
• Demonstrated ability to handle complex legal transactions and provide strategic advice.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the State Bar of Arizona or eligibility to become admitted.

Certifications:

• Certification or specialization in public finance law or related areas is preferred.
