Job Overview

A nationally recognized law firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Attorney to join its growing Chicago office as Of Counsel or Junior Partner. This role involves managing complex commercial litigation cases in various industries, including pharmaceuticals, healthcare, and consumer products. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in litigation and a strong background in trial work.

Duties

• Manage all aspects of complex commercial litigation, from initial filings through trial.
• Represent clients in state and federal courts on cases involving personal injury, wrongful death, and consumer fraud claims.
• Draft pleadings, discovery requests, and other legal documents; take and defend depositions.
• Conduct thorough legal research and prepare persuasive motions.
• Handle document production and manage all phases of discovery.
• Develop effective litigation strategies and present oral arguments in court.
• Attend mediations, prepare mediation briefs, and negotiate favorable settlements.
• Collaborate with colleagues and experts to achieve the best outcomes for clients.
• Maintain an organized caseload, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines consistently.

Requirements

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in complex commercial and civil litigation.
• Proven track record of success in both state and federal courts.
• Strong research, writing, and analytical skills with demonstrated ability in trial work.
• Deposition experience and effective oral advocacy skills.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school with excellent academic credentials.

Certifications

• Admission to the Illinois State Bar, in good standing.
