Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement legal strategies that align with clients' goals and objectives in construction projects and disputes.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate construction contracts, subcontracts, and related legal documents.
  • Handle claims related to construction defects, delays, breaches of contract, and insurance matters.
  • Represent clients in court, mediation, arbitration, and before regulatory bodies in connection with construction disputes.
  • Collaborate with the legal team on large-scale construction projects and advise on risk management and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Manage and grow a book of business by networking, client development, and maintaining long-term client relationships.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior attorneys and support staff within the firm.
  • Ensure all case work is conducted in compliance with legal standards and ethical obligations.

Requirements:

  • Must have a book of business with a track record of successful client management and case handling.
  • Extensive construction law experience at a boutique-level firm or similar environment.
  • A strong commitment to client service, with the ability to build lasting relationships through excellent communication and legal expertise.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, clients, and other stakeholders in a fast-paced legal environment.
  • High level of professionalism and ethical standards in handling sensitive client matters.
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently and manage a significant caseload.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in good standing with the Tennessee Bar.
