Job Title: Associate Attorney

Job Overview: A well-established law firm in Vancouver, WA is currently seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join their General Liability Practice Group. This position focuses on defending clients across a broad spectrum of legal matters, including premises liability, auto/trucking liability, insurance defense, construction defect, medical malpractice, and senior care defense. The ideal candidate will have over five years of relevant experience and be passionate about delivering strategic legal representation while upholding high professional standards.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in General Liability cases, including premises liability, auto/trucking liability, insurance defense, and more.
  • Review and summarize medical records to support client cases.
  • Draft motions, discovery requests, and other legal documents for case preparation.
  • Attend hearings, court appearances, and depositions to advocate for client interests.
  • Prepare clients for depositions and represent them during these proceedings.
  • Manage all aspects of discovery, including drafting and responding to discovery motions.
  • Take and defend depositions for facts and expert witnesses.
  • Regularly engage in trial preparation, mediation, arbitration, and appeals.

Requirements:

  • Active license to practice law in the State of Washington.
  • At least 5+ years of experience in General Liability, premises liability, insurance defense, construction defect, medical malpractice, and/or senior care defense.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to handle complex legal issues.
  • Excellent legal research, written, and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to manage cases from initial claims handling through litigation and appeal processes.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in the Washington State Bar Association.

Certifications:

  • Admitted to practice in Washington State.

Skills:

  • Proficient in legal research and drafting.
  • Skilled in deposition preparation and defense.
  • Strong courtroom presence and trial advocacy.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle a diverse caseload.
