A law firm seeks an experienced Mid-level Associate to join its Environmental & Mass Tort Litigation Department in Los Angeles. This is an excellent opportunity for a litigation professional with a strong background in environmental and mass tort matters. The ideal candidate will have 5-6 years of litigation experience and a passion for managing complex cases. Duties:

  • Handle high-stakes litigation involving environmental issues, product liability, and mass tort cases
  • Represent clients in complex litigation across state and federal courts
  • Develop defense strategies tailored to the client's needs, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness at every stage of litigation
  • Manage product liability and class action cases for leading companies in industries such as automotive and pharmaceuticals
  • Lead discovery efforts, depositions, and legal research for ongoing cases
  • Draft and review pleadings, motions, and briefs for filing with the court
  • Advise clients on case developments and offer strategic recommendations based on evolving legal landscapes
  • Collaborate with other legal teams and experts to build comprehensive defense strategies
  • Foster long-term client relationships by delivering high-quality service and results

Requirements:

  • 5-6 years of litigation experience, ideally with a focus on environmental or mass tort litigation
  • Strong academic credentials with a law degree from an accredited law school
  • Proven experience in defending clients in complex cases, including product liability and class actions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to draft persuasive legal documents
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the capacity to interact effectively with clients, business teams, and legal professionals
  • California Bar membership is required
  • Judicial clerkship experience is preferred

Education:

  • J.D. from an accredited law school
  • Solid academic background, including coursework or experience in environmental or tort law

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the California Bar
