A respected law firm in San Antonio, TX is currently seeking a dedicated Associate Immigration Attorney to join its immigration practice group. This opportunity is ideal for a motivated legal professional with 1–4 years of immigration law experience, particularly in removal defense and family-based immigration matters. Duties

  • Represent detained and non-detained clients in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals

  • Conduct legal intakes, including on-site visits to detention centers

  • Provide legal consultations and advise on strategic immigration solutions

  • Prepare and submit a variety of immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based petitions

  • Review application packets and make necessary adjustments for accuracy and completeness

  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutors, and community organizations to remain informed on evolving immigration law

  • Prepare clients and witnesses for court hearings and USCIS interviews

  • Develop and execute legal strategies for each case

  • Draft and file legal briefs, motions, and supporting documentation

Requirements

  • 1 to 4 years of experience in immigration law

  • Demonstrated experience handling EOIR, detained cases, family-based petitions, humanitarian applications, and USCIS filings

  • Strong case management and organizational skills

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment

  • Excellent interpersonal and client communication skills

  • Familiarity with immigration case management software preferred

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Active license to practice law in any U.S. state (in good standing)

Skills

  • Legal research and analysis

  • Courtroom advocacy and litigation

  • Client counseling and case strategy development

  • Strong writing skills for briefs and motions

  • Time management and attention to detail

  • Spanish fluency is a plus
