The role involves supporting senior associates and partners, contributing to complex commercial transactions, and playing a key role in building a premier life sciences practice.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate licensing and collaboration agreements in the life sciences sector.
  • Provide legal support for mergers and acquisitions, focusing on life sciences aspects.
  • Assist in the structuring and execution of complex IP-driven transactions within the Pharma/Biotech/MedTech industries.
  • Collaborate with senior associates and partners to manage and execute transactions effectively.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis related to life sciences transactions and intellectual property.
  • Advise clients on intellectual property issues, including patent and trademark concerns.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, industry stakeholders, and colleagues.
  • Contribute to the firm's growth by supporting business development and marketing efforts.
  • Stay current with industry trends and legal developments in life sciences and intellectual property.

Requirements:

  • 2-6 years of experience in life sciences licensing and collaborations, and IP-driven transactions in the Pharma/Biotech/MedTech space.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience supporting senior associates and partners in similar areas.
  • Familiarity with intellectual property concepts and licensing.
  • Experience in drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements and supporting M&A transactions.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
  • Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Must be currently licensed to practice law in California or New York.

Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and precision in legal drafting.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in legal research and analytical tools.
