Job Overview:

A law firm is seeking a highly motivated Taxation and Wealth Planning Associate Attorney to join their Atlanta office. The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of experience in general tax, trusts and estates, and estate planning. This position requires strong academic performance, exceptional communication skills, and a deep understanding of tax-related issues impacting individuals, families, and businesses. The attorney will work closely with clients including trusts, estates, corporations, and tax-exempt organizations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal counsel and representation to clients in matters related to taxation, trusts, and estate planning.
  • Advise clients on wealth management, asset protection strategies, and tax-efficient planning solutions.
  • Prepare and review estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives.
  • Assist clients in the formation and management of trusts, private foundations, and family-owned businesses.
  • Represent clients in probate proceedings and trust administration matters.
  • Research and analyze complex tax laws and regulations to provide practical solutions to client needs.
  • Collaborate with partners and senior attorneys on significant estate planning and tax cases.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships through timely communication and legal advice.
  • Stay updated on changes to federal, state, and local tax laws that impact clients’ estates and financial planning.

Requirements:

  • 2-3 years of experience in general tax, trusts, estates, and estate planning.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in the State of Georgia and South Carolina.
  • Strong academic record and excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience working with a range of clients, including corporations, family-owned businesses, private foundations, and other tax-exempt organizations is preferred.

Education & Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) required.
  • Master of Laws (LLM) in Taxation is strongly preferred.
  • Admission to the State Bar of Georgia and the South Carolina Bar.

  • In-depth knowledge of tax laws, estate planning, and wealth management.
  • Exceptional legal research and analytical skills.
  • Strong drafting and negotiation abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts to clients.

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Proficiency in legal research software and Microsoft Office Suite.
