The firm seeks an attorney with trial experience who can provide effective legal representation, manage client consultations, and handle case preparations for court appearances.

Location:

Duties:

  • Represent clients in unlawful detainer actions in California state courts, including trial preparation and witness preparation.
  • Provide legal advice to clients via phone consultations, assessing case facts and providing guidance.
  • Address client inquiries and concerns to build and retain client relationships.
  • Collaborate with legal staff to complete all necessary pre-trial motions, pleadings, and discovery documents.
  • Prepare legal documents, including letters, stipulations, and surrender agreements based on client needs.
  • Conduct discovery, depositions, motions, and draft trial briefs.
  • Assist with other landlord-tenant matters, including drafting notices and providing client consultations.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in California.
  • At least 1 year of trial experience.
  • Strong oral advocacy and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with trial procedure and evidence codes.
  • Ability to work with individuals from diverse educational, socioeconomic, and cultural backgrounds.
  • Availability for multiple court appearances per week.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with unlawful detainer law.
  • Jury trial experience.
  • Prior involvement in the rental housing industry.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
