Civil Litigation / Insurance Defense Attorney

A law firm seeks an experienced Civil Litigation/Insurance Defense Attorney to join its team in Redlands, CA. This role involves providing legal expertise in civil litigation and insurance defense matters while contributing to the continued growth of the office. Duties:

• Represent clients in civil litigation matters, including insurance defense cases.
• Attend court hearings, arbitrations, and mediations, advocating for clients.
• Take and defend depositions, gathering key evidence for cases.
• Draft and respond to legal motions and manage discovery processes.
• Prepare and negotiate contractual agreements as required.
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and legal teams.
• Contribute to trial preparation and participate in trial proceedings when necessary.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil litigation and insurance defense.
• Expertise in court hearings, arbitration, mediation, and depositions.
• Strong skills in drafting legal documents, including discovery, motions, and contracts.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially with clients and opposing counsel.
• Trial experience is preferred but not required.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in the state of California.

Skills:

• Proficient in legal research and case management software.
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills in complex litigation.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Effective time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently.
