Job Title: Litigation Attorney

Job Overview:
A dynamic and reputable law firm located in Tarrytown, NY, is looking for an experienced and dedicated Litigation Attorney to join its team. This full-time position offers a collaborative work environment where attorneys are encouraged to expand their skills and work on diverse, challenging cases. The ideal candidate will have experience in litigation, with a focus on general liability or labor and employment law, and possess the ability to handle various legal responsibilities from day one.

Duties:

• Represent clients throughout all phases of litigation, from initiation to expert discovery, particularly in professional liability or labor and employment matters.
• Attend court appearances, hearings, depositions, and case management conferences.
• Conduct thorough legal research and investigations related to cases.
• Draft discovery requests, responses, motions, case evaluations, court orders, settlement agreements, affidavits, pleadings, and legal memoranda.
• Review discovery responses, and depositions, and prepare summaries and litigation update reports.
• Negotiate settlements with opposing counsel and provide strategic legal advice.
• Maintain regular communication with clients to provide updates, legal analysis, and recommendations during litigation.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in litigation, particularly in general liability or labor and employment law.
• Must be admitted to the New York Bar.
• Strong background in drafting discovery, conducting depositions, and arguing motions.
• Excellent writing and organizational skills, with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Experience using Lexis software for legal research.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• New York Bar Admission is required.
