Environmental Law Associate

A law firm seeks an associate attorney to join its environmental law practice, preferably in Los Angeles, CA. This role assists clients in navigating environmental regulations, managing contaminated properties, and addressing compliance issues in diverse industries such as manufacturing, renewable energy, and higher education.

Duties:

• Advise clients on environmental regulatory compliance, risk assessment, and remediation strategies.
• Handle legal matters involving the investigation, cleanup, and litigation of contaminated properties.
• Assist with CERCLA/RCRA litigation and environmental risk transfer agreements.
• Provide counsel on energy-related legal issues and environmental permitting processes.
• Collaborate with internal and external teams to address complex legal and technical challenges.
• Develop innovative solutions to environmental and regulatory challenges to achieve client objectives.

Requirements:

• At least 1 year of hands-on experience in environmental law.
• Familiarity with CERCLA/RCRA litigation or contaminated property remediation is preferred.
• Experience in energy or regulatory law is a plus.
• Proven ability to manage projects in a dynamic, fast-paced legal environment.
• Strong academic background with excellent research, writing, and communication skills.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active bar membership in California.
