A law firm in New York City is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Trusts and Estates Attorney to join its dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge and experience in trusts and estates law and a proven track record of managing complex estate planning and probate matters. This role demands a detail-oriented professional who excels in client relationships and is adept at navigating basic and sophisticated estate planning scenarios, including tax implications.

Duties:

• Provide expert legal counsel in trusts and estates law, focusing on basic and advanced estate planning strategies.
• Draft, review, and revise estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, and powers of attorney, ensuring compliance with legal standards and client objectives.
• Lead and conduct in-person client meetings, demonstrating strong client relationship management skills and offering tailored advice to meet their needs.
• Manage and oversee the administration of probate estates, ensuring accurate and timely processing by legal requirements.
• Develop and implement estate and income tax planning strategies, including those involving irrevocable trusts.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in trusts, estates law, and tax regulations to provide clients with the best possible advice and representation.
• Collaborate with other legal professionals, financial advisors, and tax experts to deliver comprehensive estate planning solutions.
• Represent clients in legal proceedings related to trusts and estate matters as required.

Requirements:

• A minimum of 7+ years of experience practicing in trusts and estates law.
• Proven experience in client relationship management and leading in-person client meetings.
• Licensed to practice law in New York.
• Proficiency in drafting various estate planning documents, with specific experience in sophisticated estate and income tax planning, including irrevocable trusts.
• Experience working with high-net-worth clients is preferred.
• Experience in administering probate estates is a plus.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• New York State Bar License.

• Extensive knowledge of trusts and estates law and estate planning techniques.
