A law firm seeks a skilled Senior Associate to join its Capital Markets department in the Charlotte, NC office. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of six years of extensive experience in structured finance, focusing on Repo transactions, Asset-Backed Lending, Loan on Loan, and securitization. This role provides a unique opportunity to work on complex transactions and to advance within a dynamic legal environment.

Duties

  • Manage and oversee substantial transactions in the areas of Repo, Asset-Backed Lending, and Loan on Loan.
  • Provide expert legal guidance on securitization and structured finance matters, including structured products.
  • Engage in negotiations with clients and stakeholders to structure favorable deals.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate legal documentation related to capital markets transactions.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support transaction structuring and compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal teams to ensure a cohesive approach to client service.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 years of significant experience in capital markets and structured finance law.
  • Strong background in corporate finance and/or real estate transactions, with knowledge of CRE CLO being a plus.
  • Proven ability to manage complex transactions and foster client relationships.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active membership in the state bar where the attorney practices (North Carolina preferred).
